***** Five Stars

This is a very special show to see Francesca Martinez and a real comedy legend
Jeromy Hardy, this is a real do not miss gig..
Saturday 1st June 2013

Rising comedy star and ex-Grange Hill actress (playing Rachel Burns) whose shows are a mix of stand-up and flashback sketches. Not one to shy away from the important issues, in 2008 Francesca made global headlines when she became the first Olympic Torch-Bearer to pull out of the London relay in protest against China’s treatment of Tibet. She has mild cerebral palsy but she much prefers the word ‘wobbly’.
What happens when you’re branded ‘abnormal’, in a world obsessed with normality?
This award-winning show is Francesca’s defiant, insightful and fascinating answer…

Intrigued by the power that a six-letter word has over so many people, Francesca shares her own life-changing journey of growing up as ‘abnormal’, being rescued from High-School-Hell by ‘Grange Hill’, letting Ricky Gervais making fun of her walk in ‘Extras’ and working out what to say to the BBC after being offered the role of a, ahem, vegetable.

Whatever body you’re born into, it seems that most people share the universal desire to be ‘normal’. This show is for anyone who’s ever struggled to fit in, felt ‘different’ or wondered what normal really means. Apart from a cycle on a washing machine, of course

Jeremy Hardy has been a stand-up comic for most of his and will be one until he dies or wins the lottery.

Jeremy is best known for his work on Radio 4, notably on News Quiz, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue and Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation. In 2010 he published a book, My Family and Other Strangers, chronicling his desperate search for interesting ancestors.

‘In an ideal world, Jeremy Hardy would be extremely famous, but an ideal world would leave him without most of his best material’ – The Guardian
