JOHN WHITEHEAD
Jason John Whitehead Winner BBC New Comedy 2000 Finalist
Daily Telegraph New Comedy Award 2000 An avid public speaker and
amateur radio DJ, Jason began performing stand up when he moved
to Edinburgh in 1998. His sets are fuelled by laid back wit and
sarcasm, not to mention an original style that can only come from
a Canadian who has cut his comedy teeth in Scotland and now England.
At the Edinburgh Festival in 1999, he reached the semi finals
of Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny competition, while also
supporting major acts at the Counting House. In the last week
of the Fringe he performed a few guest spots in the Midnight Show
at the Gilded Balloon, and was given the compering role in a replacement
show at Christie's Comedy Cellar. Since moving to London in September
'99, he has won various new act competitions, and most recently
placed second at The Leicester Comedy Festival's new act of the
year competition. In April he will be performing in the Halifax
International Comedy Festival in Canada which will also be aired
by CBC Television. His television credits include the Adventures
In Comedy series for the Comedy Network in Canada, and Gagging
For It from Chrysalis Television for Channel 5 in the UK. "young,
