RUSSELL BRAND

RUSSELL BRAND

RUSSELL BRAND Russell started life in Essex in the summer of '77. He began acting at 15 and swiftly won a grant to attend the infamous Italia Conti where he learnt singing, dancing and stomach churning sycophancy, he left after just one year. His education was terminated on the grounds that he found it impossible to concentrate on elocution whilst in a building populated only by nubile, latex clad, teenage girls. He plied his acting trade at the carnival of Thespus appearing in several short films, (one of which 'The Box' received an award at the London Film Festival) during this time he also appeared in numerous pop videos and an episode of The Bill. After this venture Russell applied to train as a method actor at The Drama Centre. His application was a success, and he received a scholarship from a Ladies make up company, but despite their best efforts he did not become a transvestite. However he still insists his Ritz crackers are garnished with lipstick to this day. Russell has just returned from his debut appearance at the Edinburgh Festival. He performed in a package show entitled 'Cryptic Triptych'. The show was a great success with Russell being described as a 'Proto-superstar' and a 'Star of the Future'. Russell can be currently seen performing up and down the country in comedy venues and universities and recently as support to Rob Newman at The Hackney Empire. Russell's stream of comments never lets up within his fast pace observational style of comedy. He is definitely a name to watch.
